Hi, I wanted to buy Version 3, and I wil buy it today, providing my questions can be answered!
I realy need you guys to look at this.
http://www.phplinkdirectory.com/forum/showthread.php?t=4195 (http://www.phplinkdirectory.com/forum/showthread.php?t=4195)
Its regarding trying to install V2.0 on my website. When I try to access the directory it always points to php-bin.
I emailed my service provider (which is not dreamhosts!) and they said this :
----------------------------------------------
The suggestion on that forum seems to be that in order to run this software, you have to run PHP as mod_php, rather than as CGI. We run PHP as a CGI process for security reasons (as described on the aforementioned link) so that's not an option I'm afraid. I notice Dreamhost say they've stopped running PHP as mod_php, and to be honest I'd be surprised if any hosting company out there would run PHP in this way on a shared server.
I notice there is a post on that forum that says:
"We did a bunch of trouble shooting last week and published a method in the Supporters Forum when running PHP as CGI on Dreamhost. It involves about 8 small changes and just takes a couple of minutes."
If you can find out from phpLD as to exactly what these changes are, we may be able to use that solution.
--------------------------------------------------------------
Can you (or anyone) confirm what these changes are? I dont want to spend money on this if its not going to work! I am DESPERATE to get it to work however so please help!
Kind Regards
Glenn
