Setting up Emails

I have subscribed to the 3.0 support but im waiting for access. Can anyone help me set up emails for 3 different things. original submission, approval, and rejection. I cant get any of it to work and I def. dont want to manually be sending these emails. Any help will be much appriciated.

Already taken care of that :) Sorry for the newbie question, but this is the first time I have done something not wordpress related. After I have all of the email templates done that I want, how do I set it up so the right email goes out when its suppose to? I dont want a rejection letter going out when they submit the link before i have even looked at it.
