Hi:

I believe you need to contact your web host, and have them reconfigure PHP by setting session.save_path - should be set something like /tmp. Once they do that, you should be able to continue with your installation.

Hmm, seems contrary to PHPLD install error message. Can you create a file called phpinfo.php that contains the following:

<?php
phpinfo();
?>

Then FTP upload to server, and get back with URL to phpinfo.php. Now problem may not be related to sessions issue (not sure if install.php uses sessions), but let's see where this goes.

As I thought, session.save_path is undefined. As proof you can show to your web host, you can show them the URL to phpinfo.php on your server.

Quick way of dealing with this is by opening up /install/index.php

Go to line 170 which looks like
Content visible to registered users only.

Modify like so
Content visible to registered users only.

Save, and then install.

later

Content visible to registered users only.

I did that and it recognizes it.... but i still cant go past the first screen :(

I can get you to the second screen easily, but when I just did it some of the proper fields weren't populated. Makes me seriously wonder.

Mind if I take a look at your directory path?

If not IM me the details.

Otherwise, try re-uploading everything.

Just add the following lines in config.php (with the correct database info) before the ?> tag at the end of the file:
Content visible to registered users only.
