I have installed phplink into a subdomain.
When I display the submit, the captcha.php only shows a Red X.
How can I fix this?

Hi sasquatch, you might not have GD installed. Please have a look at the following thread.

If it doesn't help you, please provide a phpinfo.php as described in the thread.
Thank you.

I asked the host about this and they stated other scripts that use the GD library display just fine and that I should just get another script that would work better.
Can anyone help. I don't want to change scripts but I will if this can't be solved.

Hmm, what version of the script are you using?
What is the URL for the directory?
Thanks

It's almost got to be a hosting problem. ALL of my installs are in subdomains (half a dozen). NONE of them have a problem with captcha such as you describe.
Only captcha problem I've had is the total uselessness of the version 5 variety, which I've fixed in my installs by overwriting with the version 4 libs/captcha folder and the version 4 captcha.php file from root.

It could very well be a FreeType issue.
I'm waiting for a response, hopefully I'll get it soon.

Nothing new. I actually changed to a different directory script. It's too bad, I liked this one but could not get it working properly.

Yes, some servers do not have the proper GD libraries installed for it to work. I do hope that as funds are available I can invest is getting a programmer to do a new captcha class for us, or maybe we'll get lucky and a programmer will make a contribution to us. If anyone would like to help, please let me know.
