Description: This mod allows surfer to write notes about listings - same feature that hotscripts.com offers. Notes are stored to the phpLD database. Surfer can edit and delete his saved notes. Saved notes can be either saved as cookie, or saved to database. If you configure the mod to save to database, then surfer must login first (or register if they are unregistered) to use this service - requires a user registration backend, and is only for phpLD v3.04+. If you use version of phpLD less than v3.04, then notes can only be saved as cookie.

(you must register if you have not already, and then login - you will then see [My Notes] link)

It's a great mod Dan. My only question is of the possibility of this being used by spammers. Is there any security in place for it?

Is it possible for people to submit html, and do the comments go live immediately, or do they have to be approved?

These are personal notes for the surfer's eyes only. They are not public, nor are they visible to submitters. Strictly personal notes that serve as reminders regarding selected listings. Notes are cleaned, so no fears of injections, etc. You have to be logged in to phpLD to add or edit your notes. Notes are keyed to Listing ID and User ID, so you cannot change other surfer notes.
Note that the mod includes instructions to create a 'third' user account (in addition to admin and submitter): Surfer. Reason is that this mod is really surfer-specific. However, any logged in user can use this mod.
