I upload files, than chmod main folder 755(!) and rest like in the manual. After starting instalation I get error message, sth about problems with making new database. This is the moment I must change chmod of main folder to 777, press Back in browser and start installation again. When it is finished I must change chmod of main folder again to 755. And really - everything works just great. It works this way on my three hosting so maybe it will help somebody else

Search for adodb here in the forums. This issue has come up many times. It is probably the result of capitalization of file names in the smarty folder being changed when you uploaded, or an incomplete upload. The good news is we have visited this problem MANY times and it is quite solveable.

BTW - I know about 3 or 4 installations made with this simple trick. I don't know why it works like this, I'm not a programmist, but I'm very happy it works :) So if it can help anybody else, here is a link:
