Is that possible, and how hard would it be to set up? Are there any security issues coming along with it, if you assume I'm setting up an extra user read+write in phpMyAdmin to one single database of mine and give it to another webmaster, having a phpLinkDriectory?
You guys get my question sorted out here?
Regards!

Do you want both sites to list the same PHPLD?
If so, that could be duplicate content and you could get penalized by Google.
Now onto your answer, as far as I know it could be problematic due to both admins adding/removing each others Cats/Links.
If I'm off, I am sorry. I'm kinda sick and very blah :)

Sometimes I feel sorry for you English speaking people having to deal with us non-English speaking foreign-language freaks.
Yeah, I know about dublicate content according to Google code of ethics and such. I will think about solutions that will make the web sites different to that extinct, that the search engines will be too stunned to regard it as duplicate content. I'm talking about different text content, design, layout and so on.
Let's have a look at all those sites using ODP's database and category structure - including links. Are they all banned because of this? The answer is no.
Well, I guess the discussion doesn't end here though. I'd love to here you opinions on this issue.
Have a nice!

Not sure if I understood correctly, but I would say yes. I just had it happen, by accident, that I had two directories pointing to the same database.
What about, just to make sure, allow submits only on one dir. If you plan to allow any submits at all, that's it :o).

Thank you for your comments.
Though having no sumbit page, I guess the other directory has to have read-write abilities to the database, mainly because of the click tracking function. Am I wrong here..?
So how did your two directories combined into one single database turn out? Any bugs, errors?

Content visible to registered users only.
I had it happen only by accident. After I found it happened, I had it fixed so they are both on separate databases now.
But you are right, both will have full read-write abilities.
