Tried many times to run phpLD 2.0 on my Windows server, still couldn't set the permission to 777, and thus no success.
Now I want to know whether the phpLD 3.0 can be run on Windows server? Does anybody test it? If it's ok, I will buy the 3.0 version script.
My host is Windows server, and I don't want to change it to Unix system.

If you want, I can arrange to have someone install it for you.

I'm staying in Hong Kong, and my website was hosted at USA. How can you have someone install it for me?

We would need ftp and database access to your server.

Yes you can run PHPlink Dir on a windows server.... I'm running 3.0.6 on a windows server 2003 machine and all works well. You have to change write permissions by going to the file or folder you want and then right click and choose properties, security, then choose users group, and click the box that says write.
Hope this helps....................

Brown-Hornettt, following is the property panel in CuteFTP, and you can see that I can change nothing:

You need to have php 4.1+ and MySQL installed on the windows server. That is the technology needed to run phpLD, see here http://www.phplinkdirectory.com/articlescript/features.php at the bottom under compatibility. You have to ask your web host if they support PHP and MySQL.
In regards to permissions, 777 is a UNIX permission state. For windows you just need to make sure the IUSR_%user% account has permission to write for the directory in question.
I hope that was helpful.

On Windows server, you can usually change write permissions on folders through your hosting admin panel. I ran into this on a site I did for a church. Use the File Manager or equivalent in your hosting admin panel.
