View Full Version : Been away for a while...
I am running directories on the old free script and am fairly happy with them. Everything seems to be working, it's well SEO'ed too. I need to start two new directories, and I see that there's a new paid version now.
Can someone please brief me on the difference? In other words, why opt for the purchased version when the free one is available?
Thanks!

Hi, there have been a total of 7 releases since the free version.
Here a few items that you might like:
1. mass delete links much easier
2. google and yahoo sitemaps created in one click (and submitted too)
3. language files for easier translation
4. Improved reciprocal link checking
5. Tons of small bug fixes that makes it run a lot smoother.
Here is a comparison, but even this list needs some updating:

I like the paid version's detailed pages, and a few other features. Question though, can I buy the $25 version and upgrade to take your link off at a later date? I am just not 100% I am even going to launch the project at this early stage.
Also, is there a way to add another field to listings? I am thinking of creating a small shopping directory and I'd like to have a way to add into the database where an online shop ships to (US, UK, Canada, Europe, Worldwide). I want a line of checkboxes in the admin that I can quickly check, then have it show up as little icons in the directory. Is that a big deal? is it easy to customize?

Hi, you may certainly start out with the $25 version and then upgrade later.
With regard to the extra fields, it may require a little extra work, but we should be able to help you get it done and keep costs low (probably can do in 2 hours, but depends on how many pages are affected and how many fields)
