iDaemon,
You may want to look into mod_rewrite, see if it's compiled on your server.
Check out the Apache docs, as I can't offer much right now.
Let me know.

Are you able to test on a regular web server?

The pound sign (#) is a comment line.
Remove those, restart the server and let me know.

Correct, most webservers already have this setup and running.
If you have any problems with a business install contact me privately and I can look into any issue you may have.
Thank you for choosing PHP Link Directory

It would be better to pose this question with your host.
They will surely know.

I contacted them. They say that as I am with shared hosting, they cannot change that setting.
Is there any other way so that I ca use php Link Directory script >?

You could use it without SEO URL's.
Though, I would be more interested in asking your host what you can do to use mod_rewrite.
I've not dealt with a shared hosting plan who doesn't have it installed.
That seems kind of crazy to me :)

Of course.
Contact me via PM and send along the following information.
FTP access to the folder you want PHPLD installed to.
A link to the directory, example: example.com/directory/
And it would be helpful if I had access to the error logs for the domain I'll be installing it under.
Thank you for your time, I do hope to hear from you soon.
