send an email when a link is added - ie to the owner, i have found the notification option but it doesnt seem to work?

does this functionality exist?

Yes.

First

System -> Edit e-mail template -> New e-mail template

Write the e-mail using these variables:

{LINK_TITLE} - Link Title
{LINK_DESCRIPTION} - Link Description
{LINK_URL} - Link URL
{LINK_RECPR_URL} - Reciprocal Link
{LINK_OWNER_NAME} - Link Owner Name
{LINK_OWNER_EMAIL} - Link Owner Email

(There are also others)

And select Template type: "Link owner notif."

Then go to system -> edit settings -> Notifications

On "Link approve notif.:" select that name that you wrote for this template.

Then on system -> edit settings -> Emailer

On "Emailer Method :" select PHP mail function.

Then try it to yourself.

If this does not work, then ask the support.
