Hi guys,
Have a dilemma in my dbase which needs to be a small change I think.
My dbase is of resources for the homeless in USA and I need to be able to add County and State, for search purposes. Is it possible to add, after the event, such a table, using a drop down to select count or city, and a second for state or nation-wide? In the search page, I then need to be able to search on that bsis, so someone looking for all services in a county, would just select the state and county or just the state, and get a return of all services available which have that state or state/county.
Thanks and I love this code so much..it rocks.

Take a look at this and see if this is what you are looking for
This is part of a regional directory that I hope to release soon.

Geez, David, though that looks great are you needing to populate that city and state list by HAND?
I'd take a look at these, it might save you a ton of work, and also allow you to do a "radius search" from any given location--

and, if you know how to port them to mysql . . .

I don't know about David but I have made a real estate directory and the db of states and cities didn't take very long. Just found the right resource, worked it in Excel and imported into PHPLD.
At the start I wanted to work with one of those ZIP db's but thinked it over, from many reasons. IMHO it's only suitable for really really ambitious directories. (I just used something like five biggest cities from each state, and one more category for others.)
Otherwise, great resources and thanks for posting them.

Hi Phil,
Sorry no, I'm still lost with MySQL but I have been learning a fair bit about the PHP side of it. I can add tables though, but any help you could offer would be enormously appreciated.

Yes, I already have a list of all states plus 30,000+ cities that I use on another application.
