I just downloaded it today, is this a version that just came out of beta? Is this an issue with anyone else today? So frustrating

Yes, godaddy has been a problem for a number of people.
One person upgraded their version of php and it was fine after that.
What version are you running?

free version 2.1 Why would I have to upgrade in order for it to work? is there a known issue or just something that happens and no one knows why?

What kind of guarnatee d oI have that if I buy phpld upgraded version that it will work? I had planned to purchase a few versions for the directorie we car more about and use the free ones for other directories. I just don't want to wast my money if this isn't a viable option.
Do you have godaddy hosting stevan?

Not the script the php that is on your server Two different things

Ask Them what version of PHP is on the server you are on

I know this can be confusing as I was new at this at first and did not understand what people where telling me

I am still not the best BUT can understand what they are trying to tell you

If you go to your control panel it show say something like this

PHP version 4.4.4

Thay is what they are asking you to find out and if it is a really old version that is why you are having a problem

If that i sthe case then you can ask them to upgrade the php version to a newer one

There have definitely been some successes on GoDaddy, but this thread should give you some insight into why godaddy is a pain. :)

If you have a VDS (VPS) then you can adjust the server so it will work. It is not the script. We try to ensure that the install / script will work on most configurations and I truely think that David has done a good job of it. I have seen scripts costing 10 times as much state plainly that they will not install or refund or even help if the hosting is Godaddy, Dreamhost, 1&1 and one other I can't recall. If you put up a page with <?phpinfo(); ?> in it and pm me the link I can take a look at it and see if anything stands out immeditely.
