This should actually be done as an option.

It would be great to be able to choose to do this or not.

In the case, where a directory is a non-paid directory, you would want the sponsored links -> Reciprical Links -> regular links.

But, in the case where someone pays for inclusion, you would possibly want just

Sponsored links -> All other links

or

Sponsored links -> normal links -> reciprical links

Certainly a worthwhile mod suggestion. No promises, but I will take a peek @ the code.

Along the same line...

how about ranking them based upon the PR of the reciprocal link... that would do the same + some and encourage people linking back from high value pages (homepages etc).
