Smarty Validate error: validator id 'v_user' is not registered

Warning: Smarty error: validate: validator id 'v_user' is not registered. in /home/content/D/w/a/DwayneAAR8/html/libs/smarty/Smarty.class.php on line 2175

Yes, yet another of these errors.
I have:
1)reloaded all the libs files
2)check (with the host also) the file permissions. I think these are working right, files keep getting added to the temp/templates directory, which I have emptied.
3) Tried in both ie and firefox, cleaned both cashes.

Have I missed anything? If you think you can fix. give me a price.
I will want you to tell me what I missed when you are done.

Also would this problem likely be fixed by moving to the paid version of PHPLD. If so, how hard is it to upgrade?

I would estimate the problem is related to an incompatability in the template.
I assume you are not using the default template.
I would be happy to help you if you will prepare the notes and send them to me along with admin and ftp info. I will then assign this to a programmer for completion.

yes even i had some problems when i tried a template of V3 to V2.1
