I have uploaded this twice now and keep getting the same message:

Fatal error: main() function.require: Failed opening required 'include/tables.php' (include_path='.:/usr/share/pear:/var/www/vhosts/mysite.com/httpdocs/OOOOOO/') in /var/www/vhosts/mysite.com/httpdocs/OOOOO/include/config.php on line 46

Any suggestions?

It was however I reloaded it, I get the same response. How do I go about downloading the software again without having to pay for it?

Go here and click on Tarball to get the download for RC 5.2

Having done that, do I just upload it as is or do I need to insert it somewhere in particular?

Dawzz said /include/tables.php might be missing.
Maybe you should look for that and upload it to your site.
Of course, you should backup everything before you start playing around.

I have loaded the how shebang twice now and then loaded the include/tables.php again as well. No dice. What do I do with the Tarball besides the obvious?

I bet it is a permissions problem.

In fact, I disabled access to the file (via "chmod a-rwx include/tables.php" -- warning, this will crash your app!) and got this error when I accessed the application/web page:

Content visible to registered users only.

So, check the permissions (and ownership) on the includes directory and tables.php, specifically.

Oh, if you ran the chmod command above, run this to restore your site and sanity: "chmod 755 include/tables.php".

Did that as well, no such luck.

Tried it at 777 as well.

Is it possible to download the whole zip file again and start from scratch?

You are exceeding my level of competence in offering that.

I access the page and have several links yet I have almost no idea hou to use them. Is it possible to give me a step by step instruction with the "tarball" This is something I have never heard of before.

I have even looked at an alternate directory in frustration but this one looks to offer the better features so am back.

amatas, I'm new around here, but have successfully installed (and modified) the application (version 2.1) at my site -- http://militarywebs.com -- in addition, I have several years experience developing web sites and such. I will offer to you direct help if you would like it. Message me privately.

(What I'm offering is to get your site past the current problems.)

Any reason you can't use the latest version?

If you can't work with a tarball, I have converted it to zip for you:

I was hoping you could tell me that, it was also something I asked for help with 2 weeks ago.

amatas -- sorry I fell asleep!

OK, I've verified permission and ownership/group on your directories and files (via ls -lRa); your paths seem fine to me (via phpinfo); nothing snarky in .htaccess... I'm puzzled as to why you're receiving the error.

What I would want to do at this point is get privileged shell access to look closely at your entire config. Is that something you'd be willing to let me do? PM me.

I have failed to install this application on amatas' system. I, too, am using Linux and Plesk 8.01 to run my system. I cannot determine why tables.php is not accessible on amatas' system. There is no discernable permissions problem.

I downloaded the latest version of 2.1 (instead of RC5) and was still unable to make it work on his system.

I pass this problem to those more able than myself.

Is he running php 5.04 by chance?
If yes, there have been issues with a number of applications (not just phpLD)

I did that Dawzz, a second time, not sure if I am getting through. Also the lead post in this forum seems to be having a similar problem.

amatas

amatas

A novice question. I need to do this upgrade from php 5.0.4 to php 5.2 in my VPS in order to make the link directory function. Is there anyone able to offer step by step instructions how I do this? Waiting for iPower to assist is likely to be difficult.
