Take a look at this page Why are my links spacing so weird from the page rank. If I take the page rank out they all look fine at the left just don't understand why this is happening. Has anyone had this problem and does anyone know why this could be happening

You could try changing the corresponding CSS for that.

*grin*

Seems the PR is wrapping those other two, so that would be the first place I'd look.

It says "margin-right: 5px;"

Try removing that, see if it's to more of your liking bro :)

Not working tried all different sizes on the pr and even left it out did nothing but push it more to the left but same space.

Set background colors on the various PR divs, see which ones are pushing out to far.

I did a fresh install and now its fine. I must of screwed something up when I added the extra bars I actually made duplicates of the top_bar.tpl and removed the submit and search buttons and placed include file="middle_bar.tpl in and so on. When doing these alterations I must have moved or added or deleted something I feel, Anyway I have it fixed.

Could I please ask you one other question which class names actually control all the main categories and sub categories look, color and hyperlink attributes such as underline and stuff.

I just wanna class them out my way and I am having a problem.
Thanks
Phil

I would be interested in hearing more about this problem. I discussed it in the following thread:
{old non working url removed}

I think it boiled down to a browser problem, some setup issue with IE 6.0. When I look at my site with FireFox, it looks great, but with IE, the alignment is bad. (see http://www.chefsblogs.com/directory/Foodies_by_Region/US_Western/).

When I look at your autopartslistings link above, I see the same pagerank alignment problem on my computer. However, since you said that the problem is now fixed (and it is not fixed in my view), I am wondering if we can zero in on what is wrong with my IE installation. Are there others who are using IE 6.0 that are not seeing an alignment problem on these two directories?

Does anybody have a clue why I might be seeing the text lined on top of the pagerank display. The only pattern I can tell is that the longer the description (max 255 chars), the further to the left it appears on the screen.

Since I am guessing that most people can't see this alignment problem, I captured it with a jpeg file at:
http://www.chefsblogs.com/images/directory-alignment-problem.jpg

I am not seeing this kind of problem with other directory sites, but most other sites I have seen don't have long descriptions.

Hi richm,

They look the same to me in both IE and FF.

Since it's only doing this to the ones where the description is too long, I would try editing the description of one of those to make it less than 255 characters and see if that makes any difference.
