Sent a email to all emails in the directory

Hi guys...

is this possible? i had try to find it out, but i find only the way to write a email to one person but i need this feature to sent the email on all persons which have a link in my directory...?!

if this question is already anywhere in the forum..please show me..i had try to find, but with no result.

That's a good idea. I don't believe we have covered that before.

That is a good idea - something like send a newsletter to all link partners - I would like to see this somewhere in the future as well.

Anyone who's considering writing something like this needs to be very careful to include some way of double opt-in as listers provide emails, otherwise there's going to be some heartburn over spam.

Not to mention, a lot of host don't allow mass emails.

I like the idea though, really I do ;)

I did this about a week ago to around 1,5 K e-mails.

(my submitters agree to get a newsletter once in a while when submitting and they can opt out)

I used several programs for this and my own way :)

First in the phpmyadmin I selected all the e-mails from the database and downloaded that file.

Then I runned replace all commands in CuteHTML on that file so that I only had a long list of the e-mails.

Then I pasted it in excel and with a filter I took out all double (around 500 of them).

I then sent it out using .... Hotmail (OMG, don't shoot me).

I think i will need this feature anytime, if i have a 2nd project, then i could make a email to all mails in my directory and just say that there is now a new project, feel free to register.

in this way u have after 24 hours maybe 300 entrys, cause its still free ;)
i saw that on a localfriends webdirectory..

if its a problem, that the mails couldnt go out at the same time, it would be no problem if u could only sent, maybe 30 mails at the same time..or something like that...


btw, i have my directory now not only in german, u can also switch between english and german...just klick on the english symbol right of the search button...feel free to add your site. url is in the signature...cause its still empty, have it since yesterday.
