Smarty error

Hello,
I have just started a new directory at http://www.itaccessories.info

I have started it on 9 of this month (october 2005) and now I am facing a problem of a smarty error. The web page shows: "Fatal error: Smarty error: unable to write to $compile_dir '/home/chetansg/public_html/temp/templates'. Be sure $compile_dir is writable by the web server user. in /home/chetansg/public_html/libs/smarty/Smarty.class.php on line 1088".

Could any one help me with this, plz.

And is the referenced folder writeable? Is this a new problem? If this just occurred, what changes had you made immediately preceding the error? If you had made no changes, have you contacted your web host to find out if they made changes or upgrades of any sort to such programs as apache, mySQL, etc?
