[Mod] Show phpLD Directory on your Wordpress homepage!

i already have a Mod which shows Wordpress on your phpLd home page, and which is running on my directory,

Few days ago i saw a thread on DP where people wanted it the other way around, phpLd on wordpress homepage...

so here i give the community a mod which does precisily that.

1. It is a Wordpress plugin, tested on 2.8.4, so no worries as far as upgrading your wordpress is concerned, .... and you can deactivate the plugin whenever!

2. It currently only works with phpLd 4.0, ... if you have other versions, please PM me and ill cook up things for you. [no extra charge]

As an avid fan of WP - with many directory/WP sites - this phpld mod is a dream come true. The price is VERY reasonable too. I had a few issues to work out but the support was very prompt and I ended up with complete satisfaction. Recommended.

the main site is a WP - blog, and the directory inside is phpLd which has its own article module built in.

but if you want to mash the 2 up, then i have 2 mods for it,
1. show phpLD on WP homepage [this one]
2. show WP blog on phpLD home page

Thanks M. The mod looks great but I have an SEO question. Does putting all the links at the top of the page hurt the SEO of the WP page? Does it help to use no-follow on the directory listings? Is it possible to put the listing at the bottom of the page, after the posts? Thanks.

im not an SEO expert, so i really cant say with authority but:

1. if your marketing your site with certain keywords, yes the keyword density for those words will go down.
2. you could use no-follow, and the link juice to other links will not be affected, but the anchor text would most probably be still counted as text found on your site.

3. a good navigation is where all pages on your site are 2 clicks away from the home page,... so with this mod, you are bringing all pages in your directory a click nearer to the home page.

4. yes you can put the directry under all the posts...

Can this plugin be used to run phpld exclusively, say it i just wanted to use my wpress theme. do you still get full functionality of phpld - i.e submit links, view links, show articles, etc.

sorry for the delay in response,
but no this plugin will just do what it says, it will show phpLd directory on your wordpress home page,( or any other wordpress page)
if someone were to click on submit or any category page he/ she will be transferred to the phpLd script itself.

i would be working on complete incorporation sometime next month or something,.... if and when i have the time, ... but will have to sit and chat with David over copyright & licensing issues,... till then i think this mod rocks!
