PHP version problem

I have an 2.x link directory.

my host has upgraded to php5, so site stopped working.
I was able to run it by adding AddHandler application/x-httpd-php4 .php to the htaccess.

But the scripts are still not working.

template is loading fine but categories are not showing up.

if I manually try domain.com/my-category/ URL works (template loads) but content (categories) does not show up.

Website title is coming as DIRECTORY_TITLE and all other {$smarty.const.DOC_ROOT} are not shoing up at all.

Also I am unable to login to /admin/ saying "Invalid username or password. "

I am presuming this is an PHP issue resulting SMARTY not working.

Can anynody help ?

Unfortunately, your only real immediate options would be to upgrade your version of phpLD. The Version 2 Core is very old and php has moved on a lot since.

If you are serious about your directory, then the latest paid versions of phpLD are the way to go anyway. (In terms of features, security and php compatibility etc).

That said, I know James has indicated that there will be an update to version 2 at some stage 'soon' to make it compatible with the latest PHP versions, but since it is a free script and extremely limited support, there are likely to be no ETA's on that.

I have 5 of these sites. and I am unable to pay that much.
I will have to stick to the free version.
What is the latest free version and download link ?

perhaps I can upgrade to that version for the time being ?

there will be one released but since thousands love to use the free but exactly zero wants to support it, it goes to the bottom of my priorities.

I suggest loading the 5 back and addressing the couple of errors that will show in the error logs.

what do you mean by "loading the 5 back.." ?
If you mean load the php5 then what I get is
Fatal error: Cannot redeclare date_add() in /home/kusbiz/public_html/include/functions.php on line 1090

Yes, that is probably what James meant.

The errors that you get now, should all be pretty much answered else where in the forum.....

For example, with the date_added one, just rename that function in functions.php, or remove it altogether.
