I'm wondering if anybody visits directoryowners.com. I have used this forum for several months. I went to login today and got a msg. to go pimp my directory some where else. I don't get it. Why would I pimp something that's free? I posted my free directory in the proper area for web anouncements. I'm wondering if anybody else got this message.

I ask you all. Isn't it helpful for advertisers to see directory anouncements? I know other peoples anouncements have been helpful for me.

I guess I could use some imput here. Thanks

Sounds like the forum got hacked or the owner of it, went nut's and no longer want's to run the forum.

I think i am a member there but never stayed long enough.

Yes, it got to be a bad scene over there. I was actually posting over there near the end. The main moderator got removed as a result of not being impartial (nice to some, not so nice to others). The owner wants to sell the site. The message they left on the site is very unprofessional, and if they wanted to make a point, they could have done it more eloquently, and their words would have carried more weight.

Your are right about that message. He could of left a link or contact address if anyone wanted to purchase the domain. For now, a bad reputation from the look's of it. Thank you for this information. A lot of us never knew this.

I wondered too, with the message. Site owner ( replied to my email ) is just tired of it. Perhaps a temporary laptop against the wall kinda deal. ( personal experiences ).
Could be permanent, or temporary only he knows...The message is system wide, not directed any one site/person.. Perhaps we will get a forum post to explain it better, but for now thats all I know..

Thanks... I'm glad the msg. wasn't just directed at me. I actually had some decent threads there and I got some useful information from there. I really appreciate your responces and I'll post again if I get more details on this issue.

I just visited the site directory-owners.com again and now there is a longer explanation. This guy seems to be really upset with directory owners and the topic of pr. That's to bad because I thought the site was a pretty good forum. Oh well

I don't think he loves us directory guys.

Wow, never seen something like that before by an administrator. (I wouldn't close a forum in that fashion and i own one myself in a different niche) Great domain name though. There are other great forums that directory owners can visit anyway's. Well, back to waiting for version 3.3 to come out of beta.

That's what i'm waiting for.

Very unprofessional. He should have focused his efforts on changing the directory scene. Perhaps suggestions on what could be improved etc.
