While this may be somewhat of a "non-event" for most visitors to our site, we have just completed some upgrades to our infrastructure and code base that will allow us to grow faster. We also made some improvements to the url structure of our site. For those that interested, here is what we have been up to:
URL Structure Improved:
For a long time many of the pages of the frontend of the site contained "/articlescript" in the URL. This was a remnant from the custom CMS we used (and is still being used today). We felt this was not necessary, and there was also the negative aspect of redirecting the homepage. So "/articlescript" is now removed, and more importantly all the old pages that contained this are properly redirected to their new location. With these improvements it makes the overall URL structure of the site more manageable and easier to understand.
New Tabs Added to Navigation:
If you haven't already noticed, we have added the Templates tab and the Manual tab to navigation bar. These are both brand new sections that we hope will help phpLD users. The Manual will be continuously improved over time, and some additional changes to the programming are expected as well.
Shopping Cart Updated:
There really isn't anything to see here yet, but there will be soon. We now have made it so people can add things to their cart BEFORE the login or register. We will soon have a new Products section of the site too, and it will be much easier to surf through our site and see what we have to offer, and hopefully make the buying process much easier.
Phase Two Coming Soon:
We have a number of new announcements about the site and our offerings planned in the coming weeks. It can be difficult to juggle improving the software and improving the site, and at the same time provide top notch support and professional customization services without things falling through the cracks. But we are managing to do it, and that's exciting. We have a quite a team here at phpLD that has only improved with age, and we appreciate the opportunity to serve you!
