This mysql category dump is for phpLD 3.3 and creates a category structure for the cities and states in the USA. There 7,682 cities and states listed, meaning the database covers most cities and towns, but it some of the smaller towns have been left own. The problem with displaying every town and city in the USA is state pages can become bloated with too many subcategories making the pages slow to load and not very user friendly. With this database, pages should load fine, and all but the very small towns are listed.
This dump should only be used on a fresh installation of phpLD. After installation, in phpMyAdmin you can delete the existing pld_category and pld_category_seq tables and then replace it with these. If your host has the time out set too low, you may need to use a free tool called big dump. Some understanding of using phpMyAdmin is needed. If you have trouble, this is something that an experienced programmer could do in just a few minutes.
