Hi all, thought I'd start a thread concerning the past link software you've used.
Let me know the name, and if you switched from it to PHPLD and if so how does it compare / what were the deciding factors that made you switch.
Thanks for your time :)

I was lucky enough to find php LD before I used any others. I have now tested others and php LD is by far the best free script you can get. Its also better than most of the paid scripts. I found out about php LD from David via NamePros.com.

Sweet, thanks for responding.
I wonder how many people David has infected ;)

Well geeze Casey, I think I tried just about all of them, or so it seemed.
97Lite
CPDynalinks
BizDirectory
Linker
Particle Links
WGLinks
WSLinks
And one that I bought and can't remember what the name was. It mas pure junk. Couldn't even add/remove/edit categories. I bought it when I first started looking for a link manager.
Why did I go to PHPLD? Simple...it's the best out there. Easy to install and manage.

I paid $147USD for a script from reciprocalmanager.com which turned out, by the supplier's own written admission, to be riddled with coding errors and bugs. He downgraded it to a previous stable version, started a support forum, and then disappeared (leaving the forum open for people to post wondering about his whereabouts :) ). Most on the forum seem to think the downgraded version is pretty unfunctional too.
I found phplinkdirectory because someone on that forum posted a link to it. What a blessing ! A great program and great support from a nice community (partic. Casey who helped me work out how to use it on multiple sites because my host limits me to only a few databases). That's what the web should be about :)
Moreover it installed so easy, works fine, and the interface is clean and understandable.
Thanks to everyone for everything done to make phpld what it is so far ... I look forward to being able to contribute something back.
Cheers
Carl

The KSearch script I've purchased from Turn-K software was banned by my host. They motivate the ban by saying that Script uses to much RAM :) I was not only one who had this problem with them. I tried a couple more scripts. But they didnt attract me more than PHPLD.... .
