View Full Version : Linking to protected albums

I am looking for Hosting software and I have two questions re phpLD Photo which I didn't find on the search:

1: Can an album be password protected, or set to private?

2: If a album is set to password protected/non-public images, can the images still be accessed by links from, say, an email or another forum.

Example:
Joe Blogs has been on holiday in Thailand and has photographs he wants to share with this mates but not his wife and boss: He wants to put the images in the members area of a football forum, the ones of himself dead drunk cannodling with a beer bar girl. His mates will enjoy them but his boss will fire him and you don't want to know what his wife will do with a rusty knife.

So he sets his gallery/album private/password protected (assuming phpLD can do) to stop his wife and boss seeing him being a bad lad.

Will the linked photographs to the protected images show on the football forum pages?

Hope this scenario makes sense.

TIA.

I am going to PM you a link to an admin demo and let you play around with it.
Check you Private Messages, and then let me know if you have any questions. If it doesn't do what you need it to do, I would be happy to help make sure it does.
Thanks,
David

Many thanks, David, got the pass and the URL ... I'll play around with the settings and see if I can get it to what I need.

BTW: The suggestion that I use phpLD photo was from another webmaster who has it running a public hosting service here in Cambodia. He was highly delighted with the code, the product and its price. It's the kind of recommendation which makes you go look at something.

Thanks for the fast response.
