David,
I know i just spoke with you about some of these, but i figured that i would put this here just so others could see and respond as well (hopefully make your life easier)
1. Mod_rewrite turn off feature
2. RSS Support
3. Search Feature
4. Admin login feature
5. Adding "Author" and "Date Added" fields when viewing articles
Hope this helps.
Cant wait - the internet is in dire need of a good article script that doesnt cost $199 a license and has too many features to be simple enough to customize.

I may be able to tackle that this week depending on work load.
Thanks,
David

All the items from the first post of this thread are completed now.
It will not be difficult to allow categories to be turned on and off.

I don't have a "categories database" yet, so you have to add manually.
Does that answer your question?

I have not had the opportunity to use the script much, but I have spent the day playing around in the code, and feel I have a pretty good handle on the design feature of it.
A couple of things I have noticed that I think would be nice additions.
1. A "Home" button in the admin panel and in the user submit panel. Something to take you back to the main site.
2. From what I see, the page name of the main site is called "Last Articles" Is there someplace to change this, other than changing the Title Meta?
3. The ability to collapse categories would be awesome!

LOl, that would be a nice mod, and unless david includes the same thing in a future release, I would think people would be happy to pay you a bit for using it.
BTW, Pitorian told me about the menus about 4 hours before you. ALthough I had already decided the same thing.LOL

Perhaps you can incorporate some of he features found in the open source phpdew links
I like a lot of aspects of it, but it is poorly coded, no access to emails, and WTF is up with all the flags!

Here is another idea for a nice feature.
An admin plusgin that allows admin to insert adsense code into the database. Then place an icon on the admin editor that allows admin to press a button and the script automatically inserts the default adsense code into the article.
If you wanted to be very original and gain a lot of popularity, you could also allow users to login and set up their own adsense code. It would create somehwta of an adsense sharing article script, similar to what many forums are doing now.

I totally agree, also things like how many hits, most viewed documents.
I also think the look of the directory structure needs alot of work, and thanks to the free templates, its looking great now, I still have loads of work todo on that.
Cheers

Also would be nice to see how many documents are in each catagory, like you do in the links directory, so it shows (0)zero for none.
So people can see what catagories have content.
I would also suggest that the search page shows google adsense ads on the search keyword if no article is found, very nifty..
Many thanks

Just thought os another one, how about a MOD that alows you to check the document for foul language (bad language), to help admins review documents before posting.
