know any good, preferably free wiki scripts?

I found one that I thought, wow omg this is great...

but I just couldn't get it to work...

I need something easy/user friendly that looks nice and can be customized. An image gallery would be a great bonus as well.

We run MediaWiki (mediawiki.org) alongside our forum. Very easy to install. We haven't done much in the way of customization or added any extensions, but it serves our needs well.
That's what Wikipedia is run on.
