View Full Version : [solved] PhpLD 3.03 is running slow

And it's odd, since I tested version 2 and it was fast and furious. No problems at all with that.

Now, the issue I am having with this version (3.03) is that the admin side and the user side are just running really slowly. It's painful. Technically everything else seems to be working as it should, it's just taking a long time to do so.

I haven't seen this issue with any other piece of software before so I am not too sure where to begin tinkering. I suspect it could be a caching issue, although there's nothing to cache yet and the correct directories are chmod 777.

For example, a test category (the only existing category) has 1 link, and the time it takes from main directory list to view that single link in the single category was just timed at 18 seconds.

Anyway if anyone has a clue as to what the problem could be, please let me know. I like to tinker around and find out myself what the problem is, rather than have someone go in and fix it for me. 8)

Note: This was installed on a subdomain, not www. See for yourself how slow it is, if it behaves likes something you've seen before, or just to check out my awesome empty directory. http://bdb.pelves.com

P.S. I have removed the link to phplinkdirectory.com from the footer as I paid $75 to do so :)

If anyone reading this could confirm that the speed for my directory (link above) really is terrible, it'll help.

Thanks, people!

Thanks for those who checked it. I suppose it's my internet connection afterall. That makes me even more confused. :?

Well thanks again to those who checked the link.

And I should take this time to point out to those who are thinking about buying 3.03 - DO IT! :)

pelves - start adding some categories and I will start adding some sites to your directory. I have about 25 in total.

p.s. The site loads fine on my end.

Shouldn't be too long before I have finished editing the template. I intend this to be a directory of blogs, by the way.

I'll let you know.

Nothing wrong with the speed from the UK or Spain!

Hope that helps.
