Notification bug or working as designed??

I have been running my directory for a while and just noticed this. When I approve a link by clicking the "approve" button, the accepted email is sent to the user as it should. However, if I go in to edit the submission first to change the category (like I have to 50% of the time) then change the status to "active" and hit save, no accepted notification is sent. Is this by design or a bug?

i have the same problem, hopefully it was fixed in version 3

I was wondering this same thing a while back. Hopefully someone will post a simple solution.
