After installing 3.0.3 when I try to run admin from Firefox I get the following message:
The page isn't redirecting properly
Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete.
* This problem can sometimes be caused by disabling or refusing to accept cookies.
Internet Explorer just freezes up without giving any information.
I tried 3.0.4 but could not access installation or anything else. The Network Solutions technical staff traced the problem to the .htaaccess file. So put 3.0.3 back up. That's where it stands right now.
It seems the problem is not new and specific to only some hosts. Can anyone tell me the fix?
The directory is hosted by Network Solutions. The 3.0.3 setup requirements screen shows the following:
PHP Version >= 4.1 Green Check, (4.4.1)
Server API Red X, CGI mode is likely to have problems.
GD Support (for visual confirmations) Green Check (2.0)
Session Save Path writable? Green Check, (/data/tmp)
MSSQL Server Support Red X, Not available.
MySQL Support Green Check
PostgreSQL Support Red X, Not available.
./include/config.php writable? Green Check
./temp writable? Green Check
./temp/templates writable? Green Check
The message after completing the database screen says: Database was updated successfully. The rest of installation seems to also go fine.
