Sub categories

Hey whats up everyone? So when i make a sub categorie it shows up which is good. Im looking to make a subcat with the 50 states. Is there a way to make it so when you looking at the link directory you dont see all the subs just lets say 4 sub categories then a link that says more. Know what im saying? Thanks

Why not just make a subcat called United States. Then make 50 subcats within your subcat united States for each individual state? If you do it that way then your states will not show on the homepage until the end user has clicked the united states link. Or am I misunderstanding what it is you are asking?
