Problems with directory cade?

I got this message from tech support at my web host.....

"Hello TED,
I checked this error in the server logs, also checked server configurations. While checking through this sort of errors in public forums I got an information that using relative path instead of absolute path can cause such an issue. Could you please confirm this with the help of your programmer?"

Can anyone lend some help?
