It would be nice if the script would support languages wich contains å, ä, ö and such letters. I have experienced problems with these letters when creating new categories with names that contains these letters - simply some "__" show up instead. It would be very nice if the script added an "o" instead of "ö", "u" instead of "ü" and an "a" instead of "ä" or "å". That's my suggestion.
My ideas and requests for MODs and further releases of the script:
* Option to show PageRank as images rather than text
* Option to show details for a site, such as contact information, date registred, date approved, alternative URL's, banner, thumbnail screenshot of site and so on
* Easier editing of the languagues
* Option to show in/out traffic for sites
* Option to have use a second backlink just as URL.biz does - when webmasters link back to URL.biz, they not only link back to the homepage, but to a specified directory as well - that's so neat! This shouldn't be too tricky
* Option to promote moderators to validate new URLs
Thanks!

More:
* When you surf into a category, there should be an option to search only in that single category
* Option to show PageRank for only one single website using the search bar, registrered or not
* Possibility to show average amount of sites registering per day/moth/year

Those are good ones. Thanks for the suggestions.
I'm hoping some people might volunteer to sponsor some of these idea by making a donation.
Thanks,
David

Another thing.
I'm browsing the Mod requests forum and the Mods forum. But hey, i don't get it. Sometimes, finished code show up as replies in the Mod request forum, and most often posts in the Mod forum does not contain finished code. This is a hell to browse and understand, and it doesn't make it that easier when there are no detailed information besides the releases in the download section of www.phplinkdirectory - simply I don't know wich mods are nowadays part of the main script, and wich mods aren't.
Maybe you should have a mod subsection in the download section, for mods wich are tested to work with the latest main script. This would make things a lot clear out here.

Actually, I think that lack of support to ü, å, ä ö, should be granted as a bug rather than a request to a mod... I mean, you're excluding large parts of the European community - just imagine the possibity of more links if the script did actually support us who prefer other languages than English! 8)

Just my personal opinion, of course, but wouldn't things be a WHOLE lot simpler for everyone if everybody just learned English? :D :D

One more thing:
When webmasters are submiting links to my directory, they receive a confirmation email they are supposed to. So far so good. The problem is, the sender of the email is "mydirectorysite@io.mywebhost.com" when it should be "info@mydirectorysite.com" or "support@mydirectorysite.com". I know of phpBB (and others scripts) have had this issue before, and it shouldn't be that hard to fix?

Most of the support staff is working on finishing some mods right now. Sorry. Hopefully, they might find time later to help.

I'm looking forward to it.
One more idea:
* Display Hits in/hits out when choosing the "sort by hits" mode! :) This is very logical.
* Also, when choosing "alphabetical", the should be show up a menu with A, B, C, D, and so in, to manually only display sites beginning with an "A" for instance. :)

Sorry, but I'm very eager of start using this beautiful script.
Please, can anyone have a look at the request to make the direcoty beeing able to manage ü, å, ä ö letters when using mod_rewrite (automatic directory thing)?
You're excluding large parts of Europe and the rest of the world to use this script by not solving this issue. That said, I think this change is very, very important. In return to this favor, I will make a Swedish translation of the script and of course place a link to someone who will work this out.

I'm not capable of doing the mod, however I did some research and found some sites that might lead toward a solution. I posted them on another thread re the other character encoding issues with this script. People here don't (usually) get paid for their work, so some patience would be a wonderful thing.
See thread here:

Patience? What patience? :P
I did some research as well:
If mod_rewrite is enabled on a server, then this issue should'nt be harder to fix than this:
Content visible to registered users only.
Or... Maybe not. Whatever...
