Ok, here is the new and improved version to connect phpLD to forum software to vBulletin and phpBB 2 and 3.

Here is what you will find in the new release.

Settings: We will have admin settings to determine certain user rights. Rights will be granted for each of the following phpLD actions:

- Add Link
- Add Article
- Add Article Comments
- Vote for Article Ratings

Rights should be able to be configured by the following:

- Allow action if post count is greater than x (ex. if you user has 100 posts, they may add articles)
- Allow action if vBulletin Admin (y/n)
- Allow action if vBulletin Moderator (y/n)

In addition, the admin should be able to manually add rights for the actions by specifying a username.

- Enter username
- Grant or remove rights for the user
- When manually changing user rights, it will always override automated

User Profile Pages: These will be displayed in phpLD. We already have these pages but we want to add more info:

- My Links - list links with links to link detail page
- My Articles - list articles with links to articles
- My Comments - list articles where they commented and link to the article

Admin Statistics Page:
So the admin can easily see recent user activity, it will be good to have a page that shows

- Latest Links Added
- Latest Articles Added
- Latest Comments Added
- Recent Votes

For each, show a link and the username (link to profile) that performed the action

Hi David,

how exactly does it work though.... i mean i dont have any profiles for phpLD other than my own main admin account. Do you have to import users from vBulletin into the phpLD user database or something? i dont understand how it works please explain

You mentioned this to me a while back, that you wanted to integrate vb and phpld
I'll try to get this setup asap, and will post a few demo links if you'd like or any of the members want to check it out in action.
I think it will go over well on our site, since most of the members are posting articles and submitting their sites on directories already.

Yes, and I would be pleased to help on your site, so that we can have a good working demo to show people.

Does this mod use vbulletin's style on the directory, and if not can it be done that way?

It does not sorry :( You would need to convert the vb style over to tpl files for phpLD.

OK, thanks for the response. What's the chance that in the next version it will be able to do that?

Everything seems to work fine with the exception of, when someone goes to submit a link it returns "You have no permission". (access_denied.php)

Also, when someone clicks on Login it correctly takes them to the phpbb3 login screen but doesn't return them to phpLD, and their SID doesn't carry over...

-=-
Edited: I also wantd to point out that I have assigned Group, User and Auto permissions, I have tried "Required Registered" on Link and Article Submits both on and off, I have tried almost every imaginable option configuration but not matter what it appears as if it is going to keep returning me access_denied.php...

The Bridge DID work because all of the statistics are there, I can select groups so phpLD DOES recognize that it is connected to phpbb3 but nonetheless I keep getting the error. Anyone?

It should work for both phpBB3 and 2, the ../libs/forums/phpbb.php offers fetch for SID with phpbb2...

My problem is that it appears to me, my SIDs are not xferring over to phpld... at least I think that is the problem. I wish someone could tell me what else would trigger access_denied.php (which came with this mod)... Is there a setting that needs to be changed... is there some other modification that I'm missing. ... in action look here.. (I've changed the wording to suit my needs, but here is the error)...

It would be really nice if vbulletin style integration would be added.

Does this mod provide integration of vbulletins member database / login?

It does integrate the vBulletin database. For the style, it's not possible, and the template systems between the two applications are quite different.

i'm interested but just want to see a live example first
