| Join Date: Aug 2005 Posts: 9 | It's based on phplinkdirectory-2.0.0rc4. Maybe someone could post here if it also works on later versions. Anyway, I had this mod done so I could have my categories appear to be one directory level higher than the original rewrite. I believe that Google is giving less pagerank for lower directory levels. Now there are 3 options for URL's: Category: mydomain.com/index.php?c=2 mydomain.com/category1/ mydomain.com/category1.html Subcategory: mydomain.com/index.php?c=4 mydomain.com/category1/subcategory1/ mydomain.com/category1/subcategory1.html Change the setting through admin/system/edit settings/directory Regards Mike Edit by Boby: During the forum change from phpBB to vBulletin some attachments could not be imported and some failed. I think this is the original MOD uploaded by MikeMike and because of many requests for this mod I've re-uploaded it. If this is not MikeMike's MOD, please let me know and I will remove it. This is a great option for people, so their directory is not the same as everyone else. I want to emphasize to SEOs that it really helps to create urls/pages that are different. If it is the same as everyone else, there is always a chance google could give decreased weight in the future. A good example of this is how phpbb individual topic pages get a reduced pagerank. |

| He did basically what I started to do, nice. I'll work this into a downloadable mod for RC5. Though what I would've added was the ability to change the extension (".html") in the admin, rather than it be hard coded. How does that sound? Thanks -Casey __________________ Casey Wilson / Ap0s7le Freelance Programmer http://www.ap0s7le.com Need help with PHPLD? PM me | |

.On a more serious note, it is quite low on my own list, but many people will also want mydomain.com/category_subcategory_subsubcategory.html. Worth of consideration whether it is doable right while you are at it. Last edited by David; 06-08-2008 at 10:03 PM. | ||

| Join Date: Oct 2005 Location: Leipzig Posts: 113 | Die 1. Z.B.: Computer_Internet/Webkataloge-2.html |
