As we approach the holidays, often people are more thoughtful of helping one another. When it comes to success, it is pretty hard to try to do everything yourself. But when you find yourself in an environment where people want to help each other, things can change rapidly for everyone involved.

We have been slowly developing a “Secrets of My Success” forum where people do all kinds of things to help each other from sharing ideas to helping promote each other’s directories. We’ve kept this a private forum for phpLD license holders, so that people can post links and share freely. Here are a few things that have been taking place lately:

— People are following each other on Twitter. What is nice is many have similar interests, and it helps directory owners stay in touch with other another.

Promotion Strategies

— People are talking about strategies they use to promote their directories such as Squidoo, Hubpages, Facebook and more. Once you have a grasp of some methods to get your directory heard about, the traffic starts to trickle in. It makes it much more enjoyable to know people are looking at your site.

Directory Reviews

— Directory Reviews – We have started reviewing directories, and talking about the strengths or weaknesses. We hope that more people will get involved in the review process, so we can help each other get on the fast track to success.

Search Engine Optimization and Marketing

— And of course we talk about search engine optimization and marketing, and we are again starting to see people help each other.

As we start making our plans for 2011, it is our wish that next year will bring about that spirit of helping each other. We very much want you to be part of it, and also thank you for using our products.
