This tutorial assumes you already have pretty good command of HTML and CSS (especially step 7).

1. Create a folder and copy Transformer to it (Let’s count on Transformer as  the “dummy” theme)

2. Edit template.xml
Define “background” and “fonts” enabled or disabled. It’s a part of admin panel where backgrounds and fonts are managed

Define color schemas. Leave just “Default” if not needed

3. Define possible background choices “images/backgronds”

4. defines current background image and color.

5. Edit readme.txt
Change header and Theme Name

6. Set write permissions for template.xml

7. Change styles and templates
/layouts/default.tpl
/style/main_min.css – phpld HTML decoration
style/yaml_styles.css – Override some default YAML settings
/style/colors/* – here are all color themes listed.

If you need to override or add styles to css in style/phpldstyles/yaml folder  – use style/yaml_styles.css for this

8. Make a screenshot and replace existing one with it
