Based on Google’s SOAP Search API, Google 2 phpLD module makes finding new links (and new link partners) very easy and in almost no-time. It can help you populate the directory with links, more links mean more content and that’s a good reasong for visitors to start spending more time on your directory.
How does it work?
You first have to download your Google SOAP Search API key. Using this key, you can do almost any kind of advanced search on Google, select maximum links to import, a category where to save the links to and then let the module do the rest.
Each found link is crawled by the internal spider for title, META description and META keywords. The new link entries are populated with the found content. If no META tags are found, or if their content is not valid, the module tries to populate the fields from their Open Directory Project listing (if available), or use Google’s index information.
Your last work is to only accept needed links and remove the rest.
Server resources are kept to minimum, after 10 processed links, the module redirects itself to the next cycle. You have full control to stop the process at any time.
This module can be added to all versions of phpLD 2.0 up to 3.0.5 and above. The same files know how to process data for a phpLD ver 2.0 installation, or for the latest 3.0.x. No need to download different files, or make different changes.
This module, as well as all libraries used, NuSOAP and Snoopy, are released under the terms of the GNU Lesser General Public License (LGPL)!

As of December 5, 2006, Google is no longer actively supporting the SOAP Search API. Old members who already have an API key still can use this Google2phpLD mod and Google’s service, but newcommers not.
So, please do not bother to download the module now because you won’t be able to use it. I will need to recode everything, the complete module for a new AJAX Search API
So please, be patient a few days, I will need to read the new documentation and rewrite everything, but I will release a new version and make sure everyone can use the mod.
